The sponsor-a-child campaigns have been around for a while. But the website for The Girl Store, a project of the Indian non-profit Nanhi Kali, deserves kudos. The layout is clean and simple. And the call to action is clearly visible (some non-profit websites lose theirs in clutter).

Perhaps the strongest draw of the website is the life-like display of girls in the ‘shop‘. Not your regular photos, the moving girls standing in front of the you can be slightly discomforting.  But this discomfort  tugs at your heartstrings….and hopefully, your purse strings.

Break the cycle of exploitation. Buy a girl her life back.
